This work demonstrates the viability of MEAs based on Nafion membranes for being used in reversible electrochemical cells chloralkali process. It also shows effect operation temperature, from room temperature up to 80 °C, and humidification chlorine stream performance these as fuel cell. Results demonstrate that can be operated mode, yielding a current density approximately12 mA cm?2 at cell potential 0.5 V, when operating fed with gaseous hydrogen. The maximum power achieved is 7.0 mW cm?2, which much higher than obtained same system hydrogen dissolved into liquid electrolytes. important operate temperatures because efficiency decreases dramatically an irreversible way, affecting electrode.
